Ask Agent*** Vendors comments *** "Nine happy years. That's how long we've been lucky enough to call Abinger House home. And while we're excited about the next chapter, there's a real bittersweet feeling in saying goodbye to a place that has given us so much.
When we first moved in, we immediately loved how bright, welcoming, and solid the flat felt. Over the years, we've treated it with real care and respect. The property was last decorated around five years ago and we have looked after our home keeping it exceptionally clean and in well-maintained condition. Every room feels fresh, tidy. You won't find worn-out carpets or tired magnolia walls here, just a home that has been looked after with pride.
The layout worked perfectly for our lifestyle and the space has always felt just right, comfortable without being cramped and very practical.
After nine wonderful years, we've purchased a new home that's more convenient for commuting to work. It's a happy move, but it means leaving behind a place and a location that has served us incredibly well. And honestly, the location is one of the biggest selling points. London Road puts you right in the thick of it, in the best possible way. Local amenities are genuinely abundant. You want shops? They're everywhere. From everyday essentials to something a bit more special, you'll find it within minutes. There are plenty of supermarkets close by, including Asda, Lidl, and Tesco, so you'll never be caught short. When you don't feel like cooking, there's a fantastic selection of restaurants and eateries right on your doorstep. Whether you fancy a curry, a Turkish grill, a decent pizza, or just a good old-fashioned cafe breakfast, Mitcham and nearby Tooting have you covered. Tooting Broadway in particular is famous for its incredible South Asian cuisine and vibrant food scene, and it's just a short hop away.
Transport connections are excellent and that might even be an understatement. There's a bus stop right outside the property, meaning you can literally step out of your front door and be on your way. Mitcham Eastfields station is nearby, offering regular Thameslink services into central London, you can be at London Victoria or London Bridge in well under half an hour. And for the Underground, Tooting Broadway station (Northern Line) provides easy, direct access to the West End, the City, and beyond. Whether you're commuting for work, heading out for dinner, or exploring London at the weekend, you are genuinely well connected.
What will we miss most about this home and this area is the convenience. And we don't say that lightly. Everything you need really is close by. The shops, the restaurants, the transport links, the parks (Mitcham Common is just a short distance away, offering acres of green space for fresh air and exercise). You never feel stuck. You never feel far from anything. Life here has been easy, and that's a rare and precious thing. We've loved the buzz of being on London Road, always something going on, always connected, but inside Abinger House, it's always been peaceful, calm and our own little retreat from the world.
We hope the next owners love this home as much as we have. It's been a wonderful nine years. Now it's someone else's turn."
